Jacques Mindreau
The Lazare Singers |
Jacques is one of a kind.
A travelling violinist. I first saw him playing under a tree in a park. It seemed as though he had been "beamed" there from another time period. The late 1800's maybe. He was playing with such grace and confidence. It was easy to be drawn in by the mysterious melancholy of the entire scene, complete with its longing soundtrack. His emotive style and note choices, caressed and coloured, were oddly foriegn as if from some far away country I'd love to spend some time in, but could not find on a map. Eat when you are hungry and sleep when you are tired. I think the Buddha said that .. or maybe it was a Buddhist in town. Similarly, Jacques' plays what he plays, when he plays it. It's a beautiful thing. He waits for inspiration .. the spirit inside. It's a big deal. His approach toward his music and his relationship with his instrument is commendable. Jacques' music, his goals and his capabilities go well beyond the fabric of this project. Beautiful Wild Animals is one of Jacques' original projects. Thank God for Jacques. Christopher Emery
